Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire? and Orly Plum Pixel

Happy almost-weekend! I am so relieved to be off for the summer with lots of spare time on my hands. I've been reading a lot and even joined goodreads, a book lover's dream. Today I have for you a pretty pairing: Nicole by OPI Am I Making Myself Claire? from the Modern Family collection and Orly Plum Pixel from the most recent additions of the FX line.

Am I Making Myself Claire? is a purple-pink-nude creme. It leans in all three directions without definitively settling on one. I added Orly Plum Pixel, a grayed-out darker purple dense multi-sized glitter, as an accent nail to spice up the subtlety of the NOPI. Plum Pixel required 2 coats for opacity; Am I Making Myself Claire? required 2-3, depending on the nail.

What do you think of this combo?

Orly Silver Pixel, Orly Gumpdrop and Nicole by OPI Confetti Fun

Hello there! I have a mani to show you today that I wore last week and totally loved! I paired a fun, bright spring shade with a metallic and glitter accent nail :)

What I used:
2 coats Orly Gumdrop on all my nails except ring finger
2 coats Orly Silver Pixel on my ring finger
1 coat Nicole by OPI Confetti Fun on my ring finger

I definitely loved the look of this mani! Unfortunately, the formula of Gumdrop kind of made the process a hassle. Gumdrop was on the thicker side and was hard to make perfectly even. With that being said, I may be able to add some thinner to the polish and see if the formula improves! The painstaking process is worth it because the color is gorgeous- a bright blue/mint creme. I added Silver Pixel, a new shade added to Orly's FX line, to my ring finger for an accent. Its formulation was very easy- I love the different sized glitters in Silver Pixel because it just adds some nice dimension. Confetti Fun, from NOPI's Selena Gomez collection, tied the silver and aqua together with its rainbow large and small glitters. Confetti Fun was easy to work with and it wasn't hard to get an even amount of glitter on each nail. Overall, I love the look of this mani!

Do you have any of these shades? What do you think of this mani?

Sephora by OPI All is Glam, All is Bright and Essie A Cut Above

Happy Saturday everyone :) It's been so relaxing having an extra long weekend so far; it feels like Sunday to me! I really enjoyed my glittery Thanksgiving mani, so I thought I'd share it with you guys!

I picked up a new Nicole by OPI holiday polish: All is Glam, All is Bright- I had to use it asap!

All is Glam, All is Bright is a finely milled pink, blue, silver glitter in a clear base with slightly larger bright red flecks. This polish is so festive! I The formula was pretty good and 2 semi-thick coats made it opaque. I added A Cut Above to make it stand out even more. Lately I've really been enjoying layering different sized glitters :)

What do you think of this holiday manicure?

Night Sky Gradient

Good morning lovely ladies! Today I have for you gradient nails! This is a scheduled post since I am headed off to my boyfriend's family picnic/reunion today (that means my post coming up for this afternoon is also scheduled)! I wanted to do something fun for the occasion, so I went with a gradient!

It looks like a night sky to me with the different shades of blues, purples and glitter like the stars. I hope you guys like it!

Polishes used:
China Glaze Bahamian Escape
Nubar Lavender
OPI Funky Dunkey
Nicole by OPI Listen to Your Momager!
Sinful Colors See You Soon
Shimmer Polish Jenny

I actually am very pleased with how this gradient turned out! I like how each nail is slightly different and more unique than the last :) I used the sponging method to create this gradient. I didn't have too much of an issue with cleanup this time; I decided to tape my nails. I think next time I'll try a gradient without glitter because that'll help with the cleanup even more! I topped this mani off with 1 coat of Out the Door and 1 coat of Diamond Dry, just so the glitter didn't remain gritty. The last photo is a closeup of the gradient; you can clearly see each color there!

What do you think of this gradient? Have any gradient recommendations/ideas?

Until next time,
-Shelby

Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor Collection Swatches

Good afternoon! Today has been a gorgeous day, so I figured it'd be perfect for swatching :). I recently got a fourth polish from the Kardashian Kolor collection from Nicole by OPI and decided to do a swatch post of all of them! I strongly dislike the Kardashians, but I liked the colors in the collection more than I hated the Kardashians! I wanted more than 4 of them, but I tried to control my impulse haha. I picked up: Paparazzi Don't Preach, Strike a Pose, Listen to Your Momager!, and Rainbow in the S-Kylie. So let's get right into it!

Paparazzi Don't Preach is a peachy nude creme. This color required 3 coats to reach opacity, but I didn't mind because the formula was really good! I think this is a nice nude for anytime of the year and I'm glad I picked this one up.

Shimmer Polish Jenny Swatches

Good Morning! Today I have for you a glitter polish, Jenny, from the indie brand Shimmer Polish. You can buy these bad boys in Shimmer Polish's Etsy store! As soon as I saw the glitters from this brand, I had to have some of them!

Below I layered 1 coat of Shimmer Polish Jenny over 2 coats of Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver, which is from the Justin Bieber Collection. I'm not a fan of JB, but I have a couple polishes from his collection.

Jenny is a predominantly blue and silver glitter with some pink, yellow, and purple glitters mixed in. This glitter is ah-mazing!! With one coat it covers the entire nail evenly, creating a great glitter topcoat. I can imagine that this would be fully opaque on its own in two coats! I like it paired over My Lifesaver, which is a vibrant, bright aqua/blue. The combo makes this mani almost ocean-esque! My Lifesaver has a pretty good formula; fully opaque in 3 coats with little-to-no streaking. I'm definitely going to rock both these polishes together and separately!

Here's a closeup of Jenny. You can really see the vibrancy of the various colors in the polish! Ahhh, what a beauty! :)

What do you think?
